Patch Placement Basics
Placement of your patch is EXTREMELY important and is most frequently the cause of an individual not experiencing the relief they seek. Patience is key!
Step 1:
Identify the location where you feel the most discomfort. DO NOT use the adhesive to attach your patch yet.
Step 2:
Start by holding the patch directly over the area of discomfort.
Step 3:
If you do not experience relief in minutes, move the patch in small increments (approximately 1” at a time) around the area, waiting a minute before moving again.
Step 4:
Once you have found the spot where the patch gives you relief, secure the patch in place using whatever method is best for you (using the included adhesive, athletic tape, or wrap, etc.)
Step 5:
For the best results, leave the patch on overnight. You can try this in multiple areas each day to see what works best. Remember, be patient!
Back
Step 1:
Start by moving your back in a way that activates your back discomfort/tension. (Keep track of your range of motion.)
Step 2:
Once the source of tension is identified, hold the patch at the lowest point on your back where you feel discomfort.
Step 3:
Slowly work the patch up your back in small increments (approximately 1” at a time), following the line of tension.
Step 4:
After several minutes, test your range of motion. Move your back and head from side to side.
Step 5:
Occasional muscle knots can flare up. Work through this by placing the patch directly over the knot(s) for 3-4 minutes.
Step 6:
After another 3-4 minutes, your discomfort should be gone. Repeat this process as often as necessary.
Step 7:
For upper back tension, leave the patch at the highest point (between your shoulder blades) overnight.
Step 8:
For lower back discomfort, leave the patch on the most irritating area overnight.
Step 9:
Continue the process until you no longer have discomfort. Do a full range of motion to check to see if there’s any more pain.
Step 10:
If you feel tension returning, immediately put the patch back on the source and you should feel relief within 1-2 minutes.
